FAQs

Injury Clinic of Dallas and Plano treats a variety of musculoskeletal conditions. Chiropractic care is most well known for treatment of back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatic pain, and shoulder pain. We also treat a wide variety of injuries of the musculoskeletal system involving a patient’s muscles, joints, and ligaments. These conditions often involve nervous system problems such as pinched nerve, numbness and tingling of hands and feet, and weakness of arms and legs. Chiropractic care can also benefit areas of health as well because our body structure can affect overall health and wellness.

A referral is not needed. We are able to provide in-house medical consultations within 24 hours of your first appointment via telemedicine or in-office.

Chiropractic treatment is recognized as one of the safest, drug-free, care regimes available for the treatment of musculoskeletal conditions and has an excellent safety record. Despite this, no healthcare method is completely free from adverse consequences. Risks associated with chiropractic are very small, and many patients feel immediate relief. In some patients, there will be some soreness for up to twenty-four hours after treatment, but this is similar to soreness following exercise.

Neck pain and some headaches can be relieved through cervical manipulation, also known as a neck adjustment.  This  can improve neck mobility, as well as reducing pain.

Chiropractic care is appropriate for children. Children may suffer from injuries that range from major head concussions to musculoskeletal injuries. Children face more impact on their musculoskeletal system in their daily lives than most adults due to the nature of play and higher involvement in sports. At Injury Clinic of Dallas and Plano, we tailor care to the individual. Children are no different.

During chiropractic adjustment, the chiropractor uses their hands, or an instrument, to adjust the joints of the body, particularly the spine, to enhance joint function. This often helps reduce joint immobilization and pain, and increase the patient’s movement. Chiropractic manipulation is a highly controlled procedure that rarely causes discomfort. Once again, treatment is crafted to meet the needs of each patient.

The nature of chiropractic care requires that the patient visit the office several times depending on the severity of the individual’s injuries. Chiropractic care is hands-on, which requires patients to be in the office for treatment. In addition, there are many facets to a chiropractic regime that often must be performed over several sessions, such as acute, chronic, and preventative care.

Adjustment of a joint is very similar to when someone cracks their knuckles. The popping sound comes from gas bubbles being released from the change in pressure within the joints. Minimal, if any, discomfort is involved.

We offer non-osseous adjustments using different techniques and devices as well.
